[France] European grants for masters students in Advanced Robotics

The European Union supports the masters course EMARO (European master on Advanced Robotics) by offering 18 attractive scholarships (2 years with 21000 €/year) for Non- European students and one grant for Western Balkan students. It offers also some grants (1,2 or 3 months) for Non- European scholars (academics).

The deadline of application is 31 January 2008. The Master has been accepted in the framework of the prestigious European programme on education "Erasmus Mundus". The consortium conducting the Master is composed of three institutions: Ecole Centrale de Nantes (France), University of Genova (Italy) and Warsaw University of Technology (Poland).

Duration of studies is two years. The student spends each of those years in a different institution, thus he or she obtains two master's diplomas of those two institutions. Langue of instruction is English.

[Japan] The Yoshida Scholarship Foundation Master and Doctoral Scholarships in Natural Science and Engineering

This scholarship program is offered to the following students, who are still in home country before departure to Japan:

Countries
Mongolia, China, Korea, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan or one of ASEAN countries.

Natural Science or Engineering except medical, dental and veterinary.

Level of study and period of scholarship grant

4. Family allowance: if spouse lives together in Japan and he/she has no source of income: 20,000 yen per month.

1. Apakah IELSP itu?

Indonesia English Language Study Program adalah program beasiswa yang menawarkan kesempatan untuk mengikuti kursus Bahasa Inggris di universitas-universitas di Amerika Serikat selama 8 (delapan) minggu.

Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris peserta, khususnya dalam English for Academic Purposes. Selain itu, peserta akan memiliki kesempatan untuk mempelajari secara langsung kebudayaan dan masyarakat Amerika Serikat karena peserta akan mengikuti program immersion dalam kelas internasional dimana mereka akan bergabung dengan peserta lain dari berbagai bangsa dan negara. Dalam program ini, peserta tidak hanya akan belajar Bahasa Inggris, namun juga akan mengikuti berbagai program kultural yang akan memberikan pengalaman yang sangat berharga.

ITB Bandung: International Symposium on Molecular Pathogenesis-Call for Abstracts

School of Pharmacy of ITB is going to hold the First International Symposium On Molecular Pathogenesis:"Recent Advances on Molecular Pathogenesis and Applications to Pharmaceutical Product Development". The symposium will be held in January 15th, 2008 in ITB-Bandung. This International Symposium is held in conjunction with research collaboration beetween ITB and University of Groningen,The Netherlands. The Symposium focuses on the current status and on the future of molecular pathogenesis as well as new strategies for molecular pathogenesis-based therapies, as they are developed from basic research in microbial and cancer pathogenesis to be applied in infectious and cancer treatments.

There will be several excellent and well known speakers from overseas universities (NUS, University of Groningen, etc.) in this symposium. These speakers will share their expertise and their experience about recent development on molecular pathogenesis. The topics are about nanotechnology for cancer treatment-that will be presented by well known scientist, Prof. Shi Sen Feng from National University of Singapore-, quorum sensing, molecular farming, protein secretion system, vaccine development, synthetic genes, and many more interesting topics.

Addition to the symposium, there will be post symposium workshop: "Synthetic Genes and Their Uses for Various Applications".

[Australia] Scholarships Open for Political Advisors Course

Scholarships Open for Political Advisors Course (4-8 Feb. 2008)

Australian Labor's International Unit and the University of Sydney's Graduate School of Government (GSG) are offering 15 scholarships to take part in a groundbreaking short course for political and policy advisors from Asia and the Pacific as part of the Australian Political Parties for Democracy Program (APPDP). Selffunding applicants will also be considered.

The five day program emphasises practical skill development. It will cover policy negotiation, the public service, public policy implementation, advisory skills, the role of the member's office and the relationship between policy making and political campaigning. Course presenters are all practitioners with extensive experience in politics and public service. The program will include attachments to ministerial offices in New South Wales.

For consideration for this course, you will have 3-5 years working in a legislator's office, an undergraduate degree or alternative qualification and accredited English language competence (either a formal test score, completion of study in English or completion of an assignment/essay).

[England] PhD Scholarships in Law - University of Nottingham

University of Nottingham PhD Scholarships Law School of Law

The School of Law invites applications for five postgraduate research scholarships available from October 2008. These scholarships cover *fees and a maintenance grant* totalling £16,500* per annum. Each scholarship is available for a period of one year initially, with the expectation of renewal for a further two years, subject to satisfactory performance in degree studies.

These scholarships are available in most areas of law in which the School is able to offer supervision and also interdisciplinary projects that have a legal aspect.

The criteria for award of the scholarships will be qualifications and potential (as revealed in grades, references and in other ways); performance at interview, if any; the quality of the research proposal; and practical experience and knowledge relevant to the area of research. Preference will be given to students who have applied for ORS awards and for International Office Scholarships through Nottingham.

Our four-year doctoral programme is designed to give students the highest level of training to become scholars at the forefront of the discipline. Most of our Ph.D. graduates have gone on to careers in research and teaching at established universities, while others have gone on to careers in government and business.

The Department of Political Science at Trinity ranks among the best political science departments in the world according to independent evaluations of its research and teaching (e.g. in the global ranking of political science departments conducted by Professor Simon Hix at the London School of Economics). The writing of a dissertation of original research follows a rigorous training in how to design and conduct research.

We seek outstanding and motivated graduates for entry to our doctoral programme in October 2008. Applicants are particularly welcome from students who wish to conduct research in areas in which the Department has particular research strengths: comparative European politics, European Union politics and policies, Irish politics, public policies, electoral systems, political parties, public opinion and electoral behaviour, the politics of international law, international organisations, and political theory. The Department also invites applications from students whose research develops innovative quantitative methods, such as the quantitative analysis of political texts, as this is another strong area of research among staff.

A fully funded PhD position is available in the Software Engineering Research Lab at Auckland University of Technology and applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates.

The scholarship is tenable for up to four years to support work in the area of stochastic and fuzzy modelling in the management of software development projects.

Successful candidates will have an Honours (or more likely a Masters) degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline. The European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) and the Venice International University (VIU) are pleased to announce their annual European Summer School in Resource and Environmental Economics for postgraduate students.

The 2008 Summer School will take place from the 6th to the 12th of July, at the VIU campus on the Island of San Servolo, in Venice, located just in front of St. Mark's Square. The theme of this Summer School is Space in Unified Models of Economy and Ecology.

The purpose of this Summer School is to review and present methods of modeling spatial problems in ecological economics, and to show how these methods can be used in environmental and resource management. In this context the Summer Schools is expected to cover issues associated with:
- the use of diffusion processes to model evolution in time and space;
- the implications of "the Turing mechanism" for diffusive instability, and the emergence of steady state spatial patterns;
- the control of diffusion processes in ecological/economic models which evolve in time and space; - applications of spatial methods to environmental and resource management and regulation problems, where space is important as in cases of patchy environments, species movements, pollution diffusion. These problems could include harvesting of renewable resources, management of pollution diffused in space, bioinvasions, elements of spatial econometrics and GIS.

ADMISSION AND SCHOLARSHIPS

The Summer School is targeted to doctoral and post-doctoral students. Admission is conditional on the presentation by each student of his/her doctoral work; therefore applicants normally need to be advanced in their PhD to have produced at least one substantive chapter, but not to have completely finished their thesis. Application is restricted to current EAERE members, both European and non European citizens. Women are encouraged to apply. Given the highly interactive activities planned at the Summer School, the number of participants is limited to 20. There is no participation fee.

This activity is part of the ESS RESECON project, that has received funding from the European Community's Sixth Framework Programme, Marie Curie Actions
- Human Resources and Mobility. All successful applicants will receive financial assistance for their participation in the Summer School under the ESS RESECON project, in accordance to the Marie Curie Actions' rules.

The Erasmus Mundus Program offers scholarships to non-European students and scholars to participate in the interdisciplinary Advanced Master's Course in International Co-operation and Urban Development. The English taught program is jointly offered by the Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany), the Universitænbsp; Tor Vergata in Rome, the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona and the Université Pierre Mendés France in Grenoble and leads to a double degree. Applicants for student scholarships (value € 42.000,- over two years each) should have concluded previous studies of a minimum of 4 years with excellent results in a career related to urban development and have professional working experience of a minimum of one year.

Scholars from outside Europe may apply for short term bursaries (€4000,- per month) to teach and conduct research at one of the above mentioned universities.

The Women's Leadership Scholarship (WLS) program (formerly the Native Leadership Scholarship) creates educational opportunities for women activists, grassroots leaders, and organizers from the Global South and/or from indigenous groups. WLS invests in women's leadership by supporting non-doctoral graduate education in human rights, sustainable development, and public health in many places around the world.

Scholarships

The awards help the recipients meet the costs of tuition, fees, books, educational supplies, housing, maintenance, and travel to and from the home country and the educational institution. WLS awards are paid directly to the institution in a student's account. For foreign women intending to study at U.S. universities, WLS funding for expenses other than tuition and books is subject to a 14% U.S. tax.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible candidates include women leaders from the Global South and/or from indigenous groups who also meet all the following criteria:

1. They are committed to grassroots organizing and the needs of their communities or indigenous group.
2. They have proof of a bachelor's or a higher degree.
3. They have at least three years of work experience dealing with critical human rights concerns, and other social, educational, environmental, health or economic conditions that negatively affect their communities.
4. They have been accepted into a non-doctoral graduate program at an accredited university for full-time study/research related to their work experience in human rights, sustainable development, and/or public health.
5. They can show evidence of financial need for educational support.
6. They intend to return to their home countries to work, utilizing training and research acquired in the study program.

Persyaratan pendaftaran
- Lulusan SMU/ SMK atau Siswa / siswi SMU / SMK kelas III
- Usia maksimum 20 tahun
- Nilai Rapor kelas I s/d III rata rata minimal 7 dengan nilai Matematika minimal 7 ( khusus IPA ) atau Ekonomi /Akuntansi minimal 7 ( khusus IPS / SMK )
- Tidak pernah tinggal kelas
- Tidak terlibat narkoba dan pelanggaran hukum lainnya.
- Lulus dalam proses seleksi

Pengiriman Lamaran
- Kirimkan surat lamaran beserta Daftar Riwayat Hidup beserta nomor telepon ,
- Copy : raport kelas 1-3 SMU / SMK Copy Kartu Siswa, Ijazah, Daftar Nilai UAN, KTP dan Pasfoto terbaru ukuran 4 X 6 ( 1 lembar )
- Cantumkan kode PPA-BCA pada sudut kiri atas amplop paling lambat tanggal 23 Desember 2007
